Three-Day Eventing is a comprehensive test of all round
horsemanship. It involves speed, grace, determination, courage, focus,
and drive.
Cindy Collier Rawson is an International Event Rider. Having reached
a world class standard through her own efforts, she is finding it
increasingly challenging to find the financial support required to
compete at world class level.
Keen to attract backing to assist her, Cindy's considerable talents
hold many benefits for potential sponsors -- including 100% tax deduction
on donations made to Cindy via the AHTF.
As this is a form of competition which may be unfamiliar to you,
this portfolio will cover the following areas:
The Sport
Comprised of three disciplines, Eventing is the ultimate test of
horse and rider. The same horse and rider partnership will complete all
three phases:
Dressage
Similar to compulsory figures in figure skating and often compared
to a ballet of horse and rider.
This phase tests the horse's obedience and suppleness. Required to
complete a set number of movements, the partnership is judged according
to their serenity, flair, technical mastery, and elegance.
Cross-Country
Galloping at racing speed over a course that includes large natural
obstacles such as walls, water, ditches and banks.
This phase is a test of the partnership's speed, stamina, skill
and courage. Although not without considerable risk, this exhilarating
phase is the most popular aspect of the sport.
Show Jumping
Precision jumping over numerous coloured and easily movable
obstacles. Timed against the clock, both horse and rider must overcome
the pressure of performing before stadium crowds.
Opportunities Available To Sponsors
Some of the multiple benefits involved in equestrian sponsorship are:
- Public Outreach to a Quality Target Audience
- Promotion
- Corporate Hospitality and Entertainment
- Tax Benefits
- Motivational Guidance
Public Outreach To A Quality Target Audience
Three-Day Eventing has possibly the highest demographic profile and
occupational mix represented by any sport. It is followed closely by a
diverse group of affluent and influential supporters/consumers including
corporate executives, industrial leaders, professionals and the social
elite.
Statistics gathered by American national equestrian bodies state that
within the Event audience:
- Nearly 100% are University or College educated
- The average age of both genders is in the thirties
- 49% have an income of over $70,000
- 43% take over sixteen air trips every year
- 100% own at least one vehicle
- 55% have purchased a vehicle in the last 12 months
Promotion
Promoting your company name provides a broad outreach to an affluent,
targeted audience. The International competitions can attract up
to 250,000 spectators per event and receive extensive television
coverage. Some of the more obvious means of promotion are via:
- The rider's clothing
- The horses' equipment
- Including the Company name within the Horses' official titles
- Advertisements on the side of the Horsebox Truck
Sponsor's names are frequently mentioned at competitions, both in
the event program and over the public address system.
With success comes publicity, which provides an ideal opportunity to
promote your company at home and abroad via horse journals, local and
national press, television and radio.
Corporate Hospitality And Entertainment
Sponsors enjoy the benefits of personal invitations to major
competitions, which include designated hospitality areas, cocktail
parties, and other evening functions.
Other benefits include:
- VIP tickets to World Class Events
- Free parking and seating
- Watching this exciting and dramatic sport in comfort
- Entertaining existing and prospective clients, as well as employees
The major competitions increase their appeal by including trade stands,
craft fairs, and side shows.
Cindy's fluency in French, German and Spanish can enhance the appeal
of the sport for foreign clients.
Tax Benefits
Donations to the rider will attract a 100% US Tax deductions
if given via the charitable trust, The American Horse Trials Foundation.
Motivational Guidance
Competing at an international level takes focus, dedication,
preparation, and commitment. Motivational and teamwork lectures or
demonstrations can be tailored to your company's needs.
The Cost Of Sponsorship
Sponsorship plays an important role in assisting Cindy to realize
her goals of competing in the world's most prestigious Three-Day Events,
such as Badminton, Burghley, the World Equestrian Games, and the Olympic
Games.
Sponsorship can be in many forms:
- Financial assistance
